In what little free time I have had lately I have dabbled in a few side projects here and there, but when I really want to relax and do some creative expression I seem to gravitate towards putting some music on and popping open Z-brush to crank out some speed-sculpts and basically doodle with dynamesh. I've made it a habit of usually recording timelapse videos to share on my youtube channel as well. I enjoy doing that both as a way to analyze and adapt my own workflow and as a way to share with the community that inspired me and that I learned from.I still make it a habit of going to the gym and getting on the elliptical machine and watching zbrush videos on my phone or tablet while I get some exercise. So if you are one of those people out their posting timelapse videos on youtube then I have probably seen your work. I usually just open up youtube and search for "Zbrush timelapse" and then sort by date to find the most recent additions.
Dynamesh in particular I feel has vastly improved the ability for an artist to quickly lay down forms and finesse them into refined pieces of art in rapid succession without being hampered by concerns of topology. In the render on the right you can see my tribute to Jim Henson's Dark Crystal movie from 1982. That movie used to terrify me when I was little and now I find it a great example of world creation. The bunny to the left was a doodle I came up with shortly after Easter. On Easter I had sculpted a Zombie Jesus since everyone on my facebook was making Zombie Jesus day jokes. the idea I hope to finish someday is that the Easter Bunny will gun down Zombie Jesus with his jellybean gatling gun and toss Easter Egg grenades.
